The Sisters of Episcopal Carmel are building a hermitage.The business of their daily like in their monastic order has been making it hard for the Sisters to have the solitary time in prayer deemed necessary for their calling. Their main job is to pray for the Church and the World.
SMA has a long history with the Sisters, and it remains as Fr. John celebrates a Mass at the Monastery a couple of times a month; as does Fr. Bob Smith, Fr. Sam, and Fr. Nicholas from Trinity in Elkton, and Bishop Bud when he’s in town.
There was an article in the Weekend Whig on July 8 that tells all about the new hermitage the Sisters are building. It’s also posted in the Parish House.
