We are looking for a few history enthusiasts to work with our resident archivist, Nancy Ball, and help document our St. Mary Anne’s history.
As part of this working group, you’ll learn more about the church’s construction in 1743. Discover that Captain John Smith explored the North East Creek. You’ll uncover fascinating details about former Rectors, such as the Rev. Enoch Miller, who fought at the battle of Gettysburg for the Union, and the Rev. Giles Cook, the last surviving staff member of General Robert E. Lee. Our history is fascinating but we need your help to review, research and develop a written history.
A St. Mary Anne’s History Group is now forming and will meet this Thursday at 10:00AM in the Parish Office Conference Room (upstairs in the Parish Center). This is a working group–and not a lecture–so please come prepared to dig in!
