Crop Walk Results
Dear Team Leaders, CROP Walkers and Friends:
Although we are still waiting for results from one or two of our teams, I wanted to get the results of the 2016 CROP Walk out to you before too much time has passed.
This year, to date, we have raised $ 7,079.00. This is $ 2,467.00 short of our total last year and far short of our goal of raising $ 10,000.00 this year. I am hoping that as the last donations come in we can all dig a little deeper to close that gap and make good on our pledge to help those less fortunate than ourselves. When we listen to the news of storms here at home, as well as humanitarian disasters around the world, we should to be reminded that it is our obligation as Christians to reach out to help. You can be sure that the Church World Service is actively working right now to bring relief to many of these suffering people.
If you haven’t already contributed, please consider going to our web page at https://www.crophungerwalk.org/elktonmd/Member/MyPage/753128/jeffrey-gillespie and making a secure donation. If you have already given, but feel that you could do a little more, please consider logging in on the web page and making another donation. Any donation, no matter how modest, will help bring relief to someone who is suffering today.
As an incentive, I can offer a 2016 CROP Walk tee shirt to anyone who makes an on-line donation of $ 25.00 or more by the end of next week. Just come back to me with your address after you have registered your pledge and I will deliver the tee shirt to you.
Once again, I thank all of you for your kind attention and for your support of the Cecil County CROP Hunger walk.
Blessings:
Jeff

1st Annual Cookie Walk
The ECW is sponsoring a new holiday event that promises to be extra sweet–a Cookie Walk!
Visitors and parishioners will have the opportunity to purchase homemade Christmas cookies and candy by the pound. Besides cookies, vendor tables, and children’s Christmas carols will be part of this family friendly event.
We are asking parishioners of the church to donate 10 dozen of your family favorite homemade cookies. We will need small attractive festive Christmas cookies. A large variety is very important. Cookies sell very quickly, so we will need lots of baking help!
Sign-up sheets will be available soon. If you need cookie recipes or ideas, contact amy.argudo@verizon.net.

Bishop Visit!
The Right Rev. Santosh Marray is going to visit us Sunday, October 9th. He will preach and celebrate at both services (8:00AM and 10:30AM) and give an informal talk during our Adult Education and Coffee Hour. Please attend one of Sunday’s services, and join us at the 9:15 coffee hour! This is a great opportunity to learn more about our new bishop. He will be officially installed as the XI Bishop of Easton on Saturday, Oct. 15th.
