Help is Needed – Rotating Homeless Shelter
In our efforts to keep the homeless warm and sheltered this winter, we will help with the Rotating Shelter during the weeks of January 21st thru February 4th, 2019. Our NEUMC friends will be responsible from January 21-28th; and our congregation has the following week January 28th-February 4th.
Volunteers are needed to help with meals, check-in, activities, night shift, relief, laundry, set-up and take down.
Sign-up sheets will be in the Parish Center. Michael Garrity can answer your questions.
Heart and Sole Ministry
We have learned that some local school children are in desperate need of new shoes. Because the need is so critical, the local school principal uses a roll of colored duct tape to repair the soles. So in response, we have started a Heart & Sole Ministry.
Beginning now and throughout the school year, we will collect new sneakers so they can be distributed by the principal and school counselor, to the neediest children, at North East Elementary School. Sizes needed range from youth 12 up to adult size 7. Sneakers for both boys and girls are requested.
Vestry member, Pat Wagner, will be the contact. We will have a basket available in the rear Parish Center lobby for drop-off.
College Care Packages
We keep our eleven college students in our hearts and minds whether they are near or far. So, on December 2nd, we will put together College Exam Care Packages, filled with homemade cookies, snacks and treats, and small gift cards.
These care packages will also include hand written notes from our parish to encourage our young people as they face college exams.
Please click here for more details. All your contributions can be dropped off on Sunday December 2nd, so we can bake, and box everything up and mail to our students on December 3rd.
New! 12-Step Eucharist Service
12-Step Eucharist Service will be held on Sunday, December 10th at 6:00 p.m in the church. This new monthly service will help witness, to those in recovery, Christ’s unfailing mercy, redemption and grace. Those in recovery and support groups are encouraged to attend , as well as family and friends. Let us help strengthen those in recovery with the message of hope, redemption, and God’s grace.
