We all encounter conflict—whether it be with a coworker, spouse, family member, friend or complete stranger. And yet we all desire harmony in our relationships.

“Resolving Everyday Conflict” is a practical, biblical and concise guide to peacemaking in everyday life.
We will have a two-part book discussion on “Resolving Everyday Conflict” by Ken Sande & Kevin Johnson. A short DVD will accompany the discussion as we explore how to turn tumultuous relationships into tranquil ones.
We will have a daytime group and an evening one. You choose the best day and time!
  • Tuesday, November 13 and Tuesday, November 27 in the Vestry House from 1-3PM. or
  • Wednesday, November 14 and Wednesday, November 28 in the  Vestry House from 7-9PM
This biblical guidance will take you far beyond simply ending conflicts. Instead, true, life-changing reconciliation can take place in your relationships.

 “Increasing your Retirement Income and Social Security tips”. The second of four financial and educational workshops for the public, entitled “Family Financial Resources”, will be in the Parish Center on Saturday, October 6th from 9:30-11:00AM in the Parish Center.
Michael Garrity, is a licensed insurance and retirement planner who is affiliated with New York Life. He will co-present with Rick Darvis, C.P.A. Speakers are from the Aristotle Education Foundation, a non-profit company. The presentation will be followed by a time for Q&A.

Safeguarding God’s Children Workshop

A Safeguarding God’s Children Workshop will be held on Saturday, September 29th from 9:30-12:30PM in the Parish Center.
Those who are in church leadership and teaching positions, and/or visit parishioners in their homes, are required to take this Diocesan instruction every three years.

Summer Book Club

reason for GodEven though we are in Ordinary Time, we can do something extraordinary! We can work on deepening our faith with our Summer Book Club!

We will meet in the Vestry House, two nights each summer month, for discussion and fellowship. With lemonade, treats and air-conditioning, we will explore Tim Keller’s bestseller, “The Reason for God”. A video and study guide will aid in the discussion. Keller’s book helps to answer questions such as:

  • “Why does God allow suffering in the world?”
  • “How could a loving God send people to hell?”
  • “Why isn’t Christianity more inclusive?”
  • “How can there be one true religion?”
  • “Why have so many wars been fought in the name of God?”.

We will meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month in June, July and August from 7-9PM. The first meeting will be on Wednesday, June 13th . If you can’t make every meeting, don’t worry! Participate when you can. Want to read the book on your own? Let us know.

Karen Schaeffer will facilitate this group. Please contact her if you want a copy of the book (@$7.50 per copy) and plan to participate. Deadline for ordering your copy will be June 5th.
