I hope this note finds everyone in good health and safe at home!
I’ve received some inquiries as to the best way to donate and/or make pledge payments to St. Mary Anne’s during this time of “staying home”. We appreciate your concern and assistance in helping us keep the payroll and our expenses current.
  • We can accept checks by mail. Father John is picking up the mail daily and putting it in the office. One day per week, we will process the incoming checks and deposit them in the bank thru the drive-in window.
  • You can utilize our web page (https://stmaryanne.org). Click the “Give Today” button on the homepage. At the bottom on the left side of the next page – click on DONATE. Enter the amount of your donation and choose either “Donate with Paypal” or “Donate with debit or credit card”. On the next page is a space you can note a specific allocation instruction (pledge, outreach, Easter, discretionary account, etc).
  • You can utilize your bank’s on-line bill pay. Contact your bank for specific instructions as this varies somewhat from bank to bank.

  • Call our Parishioner Hotline if you have a specific need or want prayers at 410-287-5522. Messages are retrieved by Father John periodically throughout the day.
  • Contact Fr John at 410-919-8231, in the event of an emergency
  • We are compiling a list of parishioners who are willing to pray consistently and vigilantly for the needs of our parish family. If you would like to be a part of our new Prayer Chain, please contact Linda Gibeck (302-547-4065) or Carol Weisel (443-553-7202)

Diocesan & Bishop Announcement

Dear Friends in Christ,
In this time when circumstances change from day to day, we Episcopal bishops of Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC have conferred with each other in order to share our best wisdom with you. We know that we are better together during this stressful time, and at all times.
We urge everyone in our congregations to abide by the stay-at-home orders of our civic leaders. The orders make provisions for essential businesses and workers, and they provide mandatory guidelines for individuals and groups.
We have consulted with the offices of Governor Hogan, Governor Northam, and Mayor Bowser regarding the practice of live-streaming or recording services in our houses of worship. All three jurisdictions allow for such offerings provided that:
  • No more than 10 persons are present in-person for any service.
  • Those participating are not at high-risk for contracting the coronavirus. We are especially concerned for our elder clergy who, in love for their congregations, might take risks. We urge the elders and those with health issues to exercise wisdom and restraint.
  • Physical distance of six feet or more is maintained at all times, with hands washed and surfaces cleaned.
Within these parameters, Episcopal churches within our dioceses may offer live-stream or recorded services from our church buildings. This permission does not extend to any other gatherings in our church buildings or grounds, other than on site work by a limited number of church employees necessary for administrative services that cannot be performed remotely. These persons must rigorously observe mandated safety practices.
We fully support clergy and appropriate lay leaders who choose to live-stream or record worship from their homes. In this time when visits to hospitals and other facilities are limited, we urge you to offer pastoral care to people in those facilities via phone or other electronic means.
Should stricter guidelines be mandated in the future, we will adjust accordingly. For now, we will plan our Holy Week and Easter observances with the assurance of Christ’s presence with us and in the sure and certain hope of the resurrection.

Planning is underway for our 23rd Annual Garden Market

Planning is underway for our 23rd Annual Garden Market on Friday, May 1 (9-6PM) and Saturday, May 2 (9-4PM). We rely on the help of our parishioners to assist us with many facets of this wonderful springtime community event. As the Market nears, we will keep you informed of ways you can help—and where to sign-up. Two ways to help right now:
  •  Our ECW Plant Table needs plants from your garden. As you walk your garden during these early warm spring days, please consider what you might divide and dig for the Garden Market. Then start digging! The earlier plants are situated in their pots, the better they will look for the Garden Market. Pots, soil, and labels will be available by the Parish Center garage in early April. Need help digging? Contact Sande Taylor Louise Berg , Pat Wagner, Vickie Schultheiss
  • Our Silent Auction needs donations of gently used or new items, such as small furniture, antiques, arts and crafts, jewelry, etc., so as you spring clean around your home, please consider what you can donate. Amanda Summers Marr and Susan Anderson are our new Silent Auction co-chairs, and will provide more details over the next few weeks. For questions, contact Amanda.
